Description
English: (Complete Caption) VF-5 pilots posed in front of the unit's Grumman F2F-1 aircraft, at Naval Air Station, Hampton Roads, Virginia, 26 July 1937. VF-5 was assigned to USS Yorktown (CV-5), which was then still under construction. Those present are Aviation Cadet Jack M. Roehm, USNR; Lieutenant Thomas A. Ahroon, USN; Lieutenant (Junior Grade) John L. Counihan, USN; Aviation Cadet Robert C. Loomis, USNR; Lieutenant Commander Winfield S.
