English: Operation Crazy Horse, a search and destroy operation conducted by elements of the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), began on 15 May 1966 approximately 20 miles northeast of An Khe and 290 miles northeast of Saigon, in the Vinh Thanh Valley area, against an estimated regiment of North Vietnamese Regulars. 105mm howitzers of the 2nd Battalion, 19th Artillery are set up on strategic positions on a mountain overlooking the valley where operations against North Vietnamese Regulars.
