| Description |
English: On the left, John IV, Duke of Brittany (crowned head and armor decorated with ermine) is joined by the greyhound of Charles de Blois. This illustrates a legend according to which, the dog having left its master the day before, is an omen heralding victory. On the right, Charles de Blois is no longer protected; he is behind men who fell from their horses. As a symbol of his defeat, he is exposed to the archers' arrows. |
