English: A blue plaque which remembers two brother located on Norwich Road in the town of Cromer, Norfolk. They were killed during the first world war and there names were Lieutenant Alfred Athelstan Fenner and Lieutenant Commander Cyril Frederick Hamilton Fenner^[1]. The brothers were the sons of Robert and Barbara Fenner of Greenwich in Kent. There father was a doctor/surgeon. Cyril was born in Cromer on the 23 March 1888. He was educated at Shrewsbury House Preparatory School and then Felsted school until 1903. Cyril achieved a commission in the Scots Guards on the 9 August 1915. He was killed in action in France at the battle of the Somme on September 24th, 1916. Alfred was born on 7 April 1886 in Cromer. He joined the Royal Navy in 1901. On the 30 January 1915 he became a Lieutenant Commander. He was serving on HM Submarine K4 when, on the on 31 January 1918 during the night time fleet exercises, later known as the Battle of May Island, his boat attempting to avoid a collision with HM K3, she became the victim of collisions with HM K6 and HM K7. K4 was lost with all hands. Cyril has no none grave but he is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval memorial.
