Русский: 23 августа 1806 года два английских фрегата Arethusa и Anson захватили испанский фрегат Pomona у берегов Кубы. English: As the Russian text states, this print shows the battle on August 23 1806 - outside Havana - where HMS Anson and HMS Arethusa captured the Spanish frigate Pomona. At some later time, the names Alceste and Active have been scribbled, but that is an error, confusing the scenery with the capture of the French frigate Pomone at Lissa in 1811 (Similar name - wrong colours). |
